Allen, Jared (DE)
Allen has broken the Minnesota Vikings single-season sack record and is one sack away from breaking Michael Strahan's NFL mark.
Allen had 3 1/2 sacks in the first three quarters against the Bears on Sunday to give him 22 on the season. That's a half-sack better than Chris Doleman's previous team record set in 1989. Strahan had 22 1/2 sacks for the New York Giants in 2001.

Ponder, Christian (QB)
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder left the game against Chicago in the second quarter with an injured right hip. The rookie was crunched by Bears defensive lineman Israel Idonije just after throwing an incomplete pass. Ponder was able to walk off under his own power, but he was limping badly and in noticeable pain.
The team called Ponder's return questionable. Joe Webb replaced Ponder for the third time in the last four games. Ponder was knocked out of last week's game with a concussion, but passed all the necessary tests this week to be cleared to play.

Sapp, Benny (CB)
Sapp has been cited for fifth-degree assault and careless driving, both misdemeanors, after a run-in with security at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.
Officers were called Friday morning after police say Sapp and his 11-year-old son tried to enter the hospital through a closed entrance. The Star Tribune reports Sapp left his son with a hospital security guard, saying the boy's mother was inside and he had to go to work. Sapp allegedly pushed a security officer who tried to detain him in the parking ramp. Police Sgt. Bill Palmer says Sapp then chest-bumped a security officer who was standing in front of his vehicle.
