It's the second straight year the steady Dawson, who has been with the Browns since its 1999 expansion rebirth, has been tagged. General manager Tom Heckert recently said the team would like to sign the 37-year-old Dawson to a long-term contract. Dawson, who will make $3.8 million next season, is coming off one of his best years. He converted 24 of 29 field goals, making seven beyond 50 yards.

Rucker, Frostee (DE)
The Cleveland Browns have officially signed free agent defensive end Frostee Rucker, swiping him from the rival Cincinnati Bengals. Rucker agreed to terms on a five-year, $21 million contract Wednesday and signed his deal Thursday after passing a physical. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the deal includes $8 million guaranteed.
Rucker had his best season with Cincinnati in 2011, recording a career-high four sacks in 11 starts. He appeared in all 16 games in helping the Bengals make the AFC playoffs. Browns general manager Tom Heckert says Rucker is a player the team targeted in free agency.
