Dawson has signed his one-year tender as the club's franchise player.
It's the second straight year the steady Dawson, who has been with the Browns since its 1999 expansion rebirth, has been tagged. General manager Tom Heckert recently said the team would like to sign the 37-year-old Dawson to a long-term contract. Dawson, who will make $3.8 million next season, is coming off one of his best years. He converted 24 of 29 field goals, making seven beyond 50 yards.

The Cleveland Browns have re-signed offensive lineman Oniel Cousins and tight end Alex Smith.
Cousins made one start at right tackle last season after the Browns were awarded him off waivers from Baltimore. He has made five career starts and played in 30 games. Cousins gives the Browns offensive line depth after the team released right tackle Tony Pashos, who recently underwent foot surgery and is expected to need 10 months to recover.

Rucker, Frostee (DE)

Posted March 15, 2012 @ 12:19 p.m.
The Cleveland Browns have officially signed free agent defensive end Frostee Rucker, swiping him from the rival Cincinnati Bengals. Rucker agreed to terms on a five-year, $21 million contract Wednesday and signed his deal Thursday after passing a physical. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the deal includes $8 million guaranteed.
Rucker had his best season with Cincinnati in 2011, recording a career-high four sacks in 11 starts. He appeared in all 16 games in helping the Bengals make the AFC playoffs. Browns general manager Tom Heckert says Rucker is a player the team targeted in free agency. Heckert says he's excited to about adding Rucker to a young defensive front with end Jabaal Sheard and tackles Ahtyba Rubin and Phil Taylor. The Bengals drafted Rucker in the third round in 2006.

Dawson, Phil (K)

Posted March 02, 2012 @ 5:16 p.m.
Dawson's career is still kickin' with the Browns. The dependable Dawson, who has been with Cleveland since its 1999 expansion season, will spend another year with the club after the Browns decided to use their franchise tag on the 37-year-old.
It's the second straight year the Browns have franchised Dawson, who made $3.25 million last season and will make 20 percent more - roughly $3.8 million - next season, his 14th in a logo-less orange helmet. If they hadn't used the tag on Dawson he would have become an unrestricted free agent later this month.

Wallace was 19 of 33 for 147 yards with one TD and one INT in Cleveland's 20-14 loss at Baltimore on Saturday. He added a five-yard rush.

Moore, Evan (TE)

Moore had five catches for 35 yards in Cleveland's 20-14 loss at Baltimore on Saturday.
